Earthlang

The lingua franca of the Sol System, Earthlang has its origins in the business pidgin of the late 20th century. Having become creolised sometime in the mid-2100s, Earthlang is now almost universally spoken as a second language in major metropolitan areas.

Deriving its lexicon primarily from English, Japanese and Mandarin, Earthlang loosely follows the grammatical structure of English (despite irregular verbs having been abolished), though with the addition of Japanese particles.

Due to its ubiquity, Earthlang has been a distinct influence on Sprawler Cant, Moderne and contemporary Iyaric in addition to a great many other languages and dialects.
